Edinburgh Photos - and Latest News!

As promised, here are some of the photos I took during our recent trip to Edinburgh.

And, some exciting news! My Mum and Dad have decided they are moving to Wales. They have been talking about moving for some time now, but while they were housesitting for us last week they fell in love with a local property. They have made an offer which has been accepted, and all being well they hope to move in next spring. It's about 30 minutes' drive from us, a lot closer than the 4+ hours (plus negotiation of the dreaded M25) that currently separates us.

I'm very happy that they'll be closer. In my ideal world all my loved ones would live close by. Perhaps I can start a Welsh charm offensive to persuade everyone else that they should really be this side of the Severn...

Great photos, I haven't been to Edinburgh for a long time, it's a lovely city.

It looks so grand! My ex's sister has lived there for a couple of decades. She went for a visit and never left.

I agree with you that your side of the Severn is powerful and gorgeous, though you know I'm fond of every location I've visited on your island. How great to live side by side with your parents. Bravo!!

Well done on getting your parents to move! My Mom lives about 3,000 miles from me and my Dad lives about 5,000 miles, so I know how you feel...

Lovely photos of Edinburgh. I was taken there for the day once and always planned to go back and spend a decent amount of time there.

Great to have your parents close by. Wales is a magical place.

Hi Moonroot! next month my mum is moving to Somerset- half an hour from me rather than the 3 to 4 hours(traffic allowing) she is now! My sister moved here 6 months ago :-) I fully understand the 'wanting family closer' feeling, I had it, and my family are following me here now too!
Family is important, isnt it.

Wales sounds beautiful.... my state New South Wales is named after it.
