January Morning

The blurry sun tries weakly to break through grey skies.

Yet in the chill air, there is the sound of running water, and birds sing songs that sound like spring.

I ,too , have noticed the birds singing the last couple of mornings. Although I haven't noticed the days lengthening yet, the earth definately has. I can't wait for that point when I feel the energy underfoot, and all about, that tells me the world is waking!

It's hard to remember warm weather during mid January, isn't it? The birds remember for us. How nice.

I am sure you can remember the heat of Australia, today it is going to be over 40deg C and I have been in my garden since 6am, trying to give the plants some water to get them through the heat. The water skinks are sitting beside my pond, absorbing the coolness of the water and my poor old hens are just sitting in the shade, not even scratching around. There is absolutely no sign of autumn coming right now, but how i long for those shorter, cooler days.
(thanks so much for visiting Inglewood xo)

You paint a beautiful picture. Love the silhouette photo. The birds are singing like mad in our garden.

I found the first snowdrops pushing their way up into the weak winter sunshine!

No wonder the birds are singing, they know the snowdrops are heralding the spring.

Birds are wonderful at making spring seem just one warming breeze away.
