- Sometimes life is weirder than a soap opera.
- I enjoy planning seasonal rituals.
- True friends rally round in times of crisis - and sometimes you don't realise what a true friend someone is until then.
- I may be the only woman in the world who can't stand Sex and the City.

- Things are never so bad they can't get better.
What have you learned this year?
i hate sex and the city too. :) i've learnt that i don't like drinking alchohol afterall. I would rather take the dog a three hour walk than go to a night club. And that making jam is wonderfully addictive.
ReplyDeleteWell there you go...there are 3 of us that don't like it. We should start a club.
ReplyDeleteI love SATC but my best friend hates it.... I have also learned that my dog is a bit of a pirate.
ReplyDeleteanother one who hates it too, but I dont think you will be surprised at that!
ReplyDeleteLeanne x
I've learned that you should never say things like, 'Oh well, at least it can't get any worse.' At which point fate considers itself well and truly tempted to prove that it can and a whole lot more worse than you thought it couldn't get.
ReplyDeleteAlso there are at least three women who don't like SATC. Personally, I never watched it. But I love Desperate Housewives.
Trust me I LOATHE Sex in the City, and yes good friends are worth their weight in gold.
ReplyDeleteI hate Sex and the City too! Had no idea there was anyone else with the same distaste for it.
ReplyDeleteWonderful lessons you've learned this year. Bravo, and happy solstice. May 2009 turn out to be 100% better than 2008. May it be so!
I forgot to mention, if I don't get on before have a fantastic Yule (Dr Dragon is planning on drinking some strong ale for it!)
ReplyDeleteYour last three are the ones I most remind myself of. Especially the last one. It's a great mantra for those like myself who have panic attacks sometimes.
ReplyDeleteI did watch Sex and the City for a bit but my TV couldnt take it when I threw things at it while watching.
ReplyDeleteLife can indeed be stranger than any Soap Opera. It has been one strange year.
Happy Solstice/Yule!
I very rarely watch telly, so haven't even seen SITC!
ReplyDeleteHave a great Yule, Moonroot. I love your blog and was so sad to hear of your troubles this year.
Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteHappy Christmas Moonroot and best wishes for a wonderful and happy 2009.
ReplyDeleteMixed views on SATC, but I too love knitting. And as for not having the nerve to pick up circular knitting, really honestly and truly, do give it a go - I learned to knit because I wanted to make socks, and then spent about a year knitting half-hearted flat things before I dared to try knitting in the round. I've just finished making my first fully-fledged round thing, and it was not only surprisingly easy, but deeply, deeply tickling to do!
ReplyDeleteSending you love, light and laughter for 2009, and possibly some virtual double-pointed needles. :)
